Job Position: Projects Commissioning Fire Alarm Engineer Job Profile: The ideal candidate will have industry experience with a proven track record in the commissioning of a variety of fire alarm & detection systems, disabled refuge systems, air sampling, gas suppression and any other industry related systems as required. The role may require the successful candidate to be flexible as he or she maybe be asked, during periods where Project work slows down, to carry out service-related activities. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability work in a pressured site environment and work with contractors to deliver jobs to meet strict deadlines. Possibly the most important attribute will be the candidate s ability to demonstrate the core skills that will help them to enhance and further develop our customer services around the country and become a valued member of our team. Job Description: Typical daily duties include the following: Commissioning and Handover of Fire alarm Installations and Disabled Refuge Systems. Installing & commissioning small extensions or making alterations to existing systems. Programming fire alarm systems cause and effect to meet supplied specifications. Completing all relevant paperwork including commissioning certificates. Working with and organising and motivating contractors. Liaising with Customers and Staff (Internally and externally). Communication professionally and confidently through written and oral articulation. Proficient use of IT to record and update Company records Interpret data ensuring attention to detail and accuracy. Ensure that workload is planned and prioritised in accordance with Company business needs. Present a smart and professional appearance to customers and suppliers at all times. Deliver flexibility in terms of working hours to meet the demands of the business and occasionally be prepared to stay away from home for short periods of time. Utilise knowledge of fire alarm and detection system, emergency lights, disable refuge systems and access control system. Assisting the Service Department with field related activities where required. Responding to and correcting warranty issues. General Administrative Duties. Competencies: Full UK Driver s License Fire Industry Experience. Honeywell Gent / Notifer Knowledge would be an asset but not essential. An understanding of BS5839 Part 1 2017, Unit 1 Fire Detection Design. Exceptional individual product knowledge. Attitude to Work - Have an excellent attitude and work ethic being highly motivated and able to work effectively alone under pressure to meet deadlines Communication Skills The ability to communicate with people at all levels, providing clarity and gaining trust Team Skills The ability to work with teams and individuals to ensure effective and professional working relationships are developed and maintained. Able to develop strong relationships with customers & colleagues. Customer Service Skills The ability to both recognise and deliver excellent customer service, willing to go the extra mile to provide customers with a lasting positive impression Problem Solving Skills The ability to identify and resolve problems in a manner that enhances the business and complies with legislation IT Skills The ability to use technology to save time and deliver a professional service All duties should be delivered in accordance with Company requirements and policies relating to standards, accuracy, customer service and team working.
