Pastoral Lead Are you passionate about working within an SEMH provision and able to help children learn and thrive with encouraging support? Are you able to support students through providing therapeutic interventions? Can you work in a Trauma Informed way to help students understand that school is a safe place? A Special school (SEN) in Suffolk who caters for pupils aged 7 - 19 who have diagnosis ranging from ASD to Dyslexia are looking for a dedicated intervention and counselling lead to work with them on a full-time basis. October Start Permanent role Training and progressions Experience working with SEN desirable KS 3/4/5 Competitive pay Rural Suffolk setting 25 minute drive from Needham Market 25 minute drive from Bury St Edmunds You will be working in a country setting, for a school who offer a broadly balanced curriculum, exceptionally small classes, and highly experienced SEN teachers and therapists. They are a happy school whose children become enthusiastic learners as they overcome anxiety and gain confidence. Requirements: Experience of a similar pastoral, holistic and/or child-facing role within an educational setting. Experience of working with children who may have social care involvement (CiN plans, CP plans, etc) Strong understanding of attachment and loss. Evidence of therapeutic training/qualifications Psychological/counselling courses attended is desirable Active, energetic, creative, outgoing and empathic character.
