Maintenance/Grounds Keeper

We are looking for a full time experienced Warden/Maintenance Person for a popular, family holiday park near Lancaster. The park are looking for someone who can offer experience with carpentry, handyman work and a basic knowledge of minor electrical and plumbing work who is able to help out with both maintenance jobs and the upkeep of the park. This will include grass and hedge cutting, looking after the flower beds and assisting with general maintenance issues around the park. Having experience of siting caravans would be a huge advantage. Main Duties: To assist the General Manager in the safe and efficient operation of the caravan park. To provide security assistance around the park when required To carry out any maintenance/ground work to a high standard across the Park. To engage in a range of tasks in connection with the maintenance of the site, including grass cutting, strimming, landscaping and ensuring at all times that the caravan park is attractive and presentable. To take control of moving static caravans around the Park, siting/de-siting of same. You will be required to drive various vehicles in this role To delegate tasks to meet maintenance schedule and satisfy the General Manager s needs. Ensuring that maintenance jobs reported to reception are attended promptly. Spraying and applying pesticides. (training arranged if need be) Maintaining all machinery and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition. Ensuring the security and safety of all machinery and equipment at all times. Checking gas and electric usage and requirements as instructed. Liaise with General Manager for scheduling repairmen and extra help as needed. To assist with the operation of gas delivery when required. To contribute towards the maintenance of successful team working throughout the staff team at the park. The Person: The successful candidate will demonstrate an enthusiastic, pro-active and problem solving approach to the job. They will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage customer expectations efficiently, be flexible, focused, self-motivated and be effective at time management and organisation. Previous experience of maintenance on a holiday park would be an advantage but not essential. Bank Holiday and weekend work will be required, including unsociable hours. A driving licence is essential as you will be required to use company vehicles/machinery.
