Manufacturing Engineer £40,000 Stoke on Trent Read full advert including holidays information below A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join an industry leader, who supply a range of manufacturing solutions to the automotive offroad sector has recently arisen. The Manufacturing Engineer will support the engineering and operations teams to achieve compliant tooling and parts as well as improving overall performance via continuous improvement and corrective action. You will manage the Quality, cost, and delivery of the onsite machined processes. Key responsibilities: Create, establish, and validate the manufacturing controls for the detailed operations within the onsite processes. Provide fixtures, programs, and process instructions which deliver solutions within agreed timescales. Interpreting and assessing technical requirements of products from 3D models, 2D engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions. Identify and eliminate all potential sources of non-conformance. Build in advanced quality planning principles to process and product design at all stages. Ensure that effective change control is maintained and that each process is developed. Conduct process development trials and technology acquisition programmes. Ensure that the method of manufacture is stable, in control and capable avoiding both non-conformance and adverse surface conditions. Validate tools, tool lives, coolants, fixtures, machined surfaces, and machined coatings. Apply Lean Six Sigma principals and methods to achieve world class manufacturing performance Defining production solutions and equipment requirements, including conceptual scheme and detail design of capital equipment. Develop methods and processes that optimise recurring manufacturing costs in line with business case requirements Prove out processes and trouble shoot process development and optimisation. Researching new and emerging technologies. Working with sub-contractors and technology partners to design, install and commission new production processes Key requirements Exposure to high reliability manufacturing - Automotive / Aerospace Experience of Assembly and/or Heavy Industrial Manufacturing preferred Knowledge/experience of; industrialisation, validation, FMEA, statistical process control Holidays are taken during shut down periods only Shut down periods: 1 week in May 3 weeks in August 1 week in September 1 week Dec over Christmas Those interested must forward their CV to without delay to apply At Morgan Ryder we can provide you with a full range of employment opportunities from short term and fixed term temporary vacancies to permanent positions.
