Hydrocarbon Extraction Technician

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for manufacturing and have previous and substantial Cannabis Hydrocarbon Extraction Experience.

Job Description

The Hydrocarbon Extraction Technician will work directly with the Director of Extraction to facilitate and conduct the safe and consistent Hydrocarbon Extraction Production Runs for Canapa Valley Farms Processing. This position's responsibilities will cover the scope of work from pre-processing or preparation of raw materials to the final collection of extracts including all subtasks and items with a significant emphasis on safety and compliance throughout all stages of the extraction process.

Coordinate directly with the Director of Extraction to plan for and execute all Hydrocarbon Extraction Runs for CVF P according to the production schedule.

Utilize and follow specific Standard Operating Procedures to consistently and safely produce hydrocarbon crude extracts for the creation of Live Resin, Diamonds and Sauce, High Terpene Extract, Shatter, Badder, Activated Cartridge Oil, Caviar extract consistencies, and product types.

Adhere to and enforce all operational safety codes and protocols involved in the LPG Extraction Process.

Command complete competency and fluency over the operations and configuration of the custom Hydrocarbon extraction system and all ancillary chiller, heaters, and secondary processing equipment

Complete pre-extraction and post-extraction system protocols and tracking and data entry for daily production runs.

Execute daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled Hydrocarbon and Equipment Maintenance and upkeep tasks.

Interact and direct the Lab Technician staff team for the completion of all pertinent production tasks.

Cleaning, organization, and overall upkeep of C1D1 Space Extraction Booth workspaces.

Accurate tracking of all relevant extraction metrics including but not limited to material sock weights, total run sizes, solvent consumption, run times throughput speeds, etc.

Coordination with Post Processing for post-extraction planning and handling of all products.

Daily Extraction environment and equipment safety checks

Manages safe and compliant disposal of all Extracted Biomass from the facility

Inventory of consumables and coordination for requisitions.


$60000 - $65000 USD per year

Required Skills

Skill Requirements:

Previous Hydrocarbon or other relevant extraction operations Experience

Demonstrated mechanical expertise or certifications

Familiarity with basic scientific principles and production terminology

Ability to read, follow, comprehend, and create Standard Operating Procedures. 

Math and Data entry skilled

Understanding and adhering to applicable state and local laws, regulations, as they pertain to safety and all applicable operating codes withing the facility.

High attention to detail and precision - Always striving for improvement.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Impeccable integrity, strong ethics, and sound professional judgment


Must be over 21 years of age

Must successfully pass a background check.

Associate of 4-year degree preferred in relevant scientific or mechanical oriented background.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable manufacturing environment with Cannabis Extraction Experience.

Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance. 

Proficient math and computer skills, including MS Word and Excel 

Ability to operate various types of equipment and machinery 

Reliable transportation

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. repeatedly and up to 80 lbs. on occasion
